GRYPHON S3

The GRYPHON S3 package is the newest of the GM recommended tools. Gryphon S3 is now standard with wireless connectivity and an OBD-II cable. Featuring our high-end analyzer, Hercules, and compact S3 wireless hardware, this package is designed to support advanced communication with in-vehicle networks for use in a variety of applications including diagnostics, simulation, and various custom applications.

Supported Protocols:
CAN (canbus), DeviceNet, GMLAN, Honda, ISO9141-2, ISO11898 (CAN), ISO11992, ISO15765, J1850 GM (Class 2), J1850 Ford (SCP), J1850 DCX, J1939, J1979, J2284, J2411 (GM SW), J2534, KWP2000 (ISO14230), LIN, SCI - Chrysler, SWCAN, UBP.

For further use of the Gryphon S3 hardware only , the following protocols are available:

KWP2000/ISO9141, Ford J1850(PWM, SCP), DCX J1850 (VPW), Fault-Tolerant CAN, and Honda UART.

GRYPHON

GRYPHON is a hardware adapter that provides remote connectivity for multiplexed automation and automotive communication networks. Gryphon doesn't require any programming and is ready to run out-of-the-box as a stand-alone product. It uses an Ethernet connection to provide a high-speed user interface. Users can interface to the Gryphon by either using Dearborn Group's Hercules high performance analyzer or writing their own applications using the provided C++ libraries.

The GRYPHON has three expansion slots that lets you install numerous optional Plug-In Modules designed to support specific protocols. The benefit of this capability includes the ability to support multi-client connection (e.g., running two client connections – one Hercules application and one user-written test application).

Supported Protocols: GM J1850 (VPW, Class 2), Ford J1850 (PWM, SCP), DCX J1850 (VPW), ISO 11898/J2284 CAN, J2411 (single-wire) CAN, ISO 11992 CAN, Fault-Tolerant CAN, KWP2000/ISO 9141, Honda UART and LIN.

HERCULES SOFTWARE

The Hercules software tool is a Windows CAN analyzer for use with the Gryphon and S-CAT2 platforms. It is the ideal, high-performance analyzer for network monitoring, simulation, and custom applications across multiple vehicle networks. It supports advanced communication with in-vehicle networks utilizing the following protocols.

Supported Protocols: CAN (ISO 11898), Fault-tolerant (ISO 11519-2), single wire (J2411), LIN, and J1850 Class2, DCX, SCP). Additionally, it includes full diagnostic services for ISO 15765, J1979, and GMLAN.

PYTHON

The Python hardware adapter is a low-cost, multi-protocol hardware interface that is designed to communicate to all OBD II vehicle diagnostic networks. The Python includes a J2534 API for reprogramming and passthrough diagnostics. This versatile tool communicates with a PC by use of either a USB port (Python-USB) or RS-232 cable (Python-RS). The Python family also includes a parallel-port adapter that allows advanced interaction with connected CAN networks.

Supported Protocols and APIs: CAN, J1850 VPW, J1850 PWM, ISO 9141, ISO 14230, ISO 15765 and J2534.

FIBER OPTIC BRIDGE FOR EMC/EMI TESTING

The Fiber Optic Bridge hardware adapter works as a pass-through hardware interface to translate fiber-optic signal to the original vehicle network signal for connection to any user application. Paired with our Fiber Optic Satellite Module, it gives you an isolated, non-electrical interface between a device under test and external data collection equipment. This lets you conduct precision device testing in an EMC environment.

Supported Protocols: KWP2000 / ISO 9141, GM J1850 (VPW, Class 2), ISO 11898/ J2284 CAN.

DPA

The DPA III is a series of hardware adapters that belong to the DPA product family – a group of tools used to interconnect serial communication networks and PC computers. It is supplied with the TruckConnectTM software library that is included with all DPA family products to provide flexibility across all hardware platforms and networks. The DPA III programming interface includes an RP1210A interface and a C library API for Windows. To reduce PC computer overhead demand, the J1939 transport protocol is supported in the hardware.

Supported Protocols and APIs:
DG-DPA III Plus /T (RS-232) – J1939/CAN, J1850 VPWM (GM Class 2), GM UART (ALDL), J1587/J1708 (ATA) and pass-through. (Note: Single-wire CAN (J2411), GM LAN, J2284 (High speed CAN), ISO 9141 are available as an option.)
DG-DPA III/PC104 – J1939/CAN, J1850 VPWM (GM Class 2), GM UART (ALDL), J1587/J1708 (ATA).
DG-DPA III/ISA – J1939/CAN, J1850 VPWM (GM Class 2), GM UART (ALDL), J1587/J1708 (ATA).

VSI-2534

VSI-2534 is a J2534 Pass-Thru device with a primary purpose to program automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). It provides module programming for development, end-of-line testing and re-programming. Easy to use "Out of the box" J2534 Pass-Thru device.

Supported Protocols and APIs: CAN (ISO 11898, J2284), Single-Wire CAN, ISO 15765, ISO 9141, KWP2000, J1850 PWM (Ford SCP), J1850 VPWM (both GM Class 2 and Chrysler), SCI and GM-UART. J2534 API Version 0404 support.

DPA RF

Using spread spectrum hopping modems, the DPA RF system allows multiple systems to be used in the same garage. There does not have to be a direct line of sight for the connection to work. This allows the vehicle to remain outside the building while the service technician can remain inside unexposed to the weather.

Supported Protocols and APIs: J1939 (CAN), Single-wire CAN (J2411), ISO 9141, J1850 VPW (GM / Chrysler), GM UART (ALDL), J1708, Windows C library API and RP1210.
